Cheryl Oates Appointed as Chief of Staff for Premier of British Columbia

Cheryl Oates was recently appointed as the Interim Chief of Staff for British Columbia Premier David Eby. 

As Interim Chief of Staff, Oates will act as the Premier's strategic right-hand, managing the Premier's office and coordinating government-wide policy and initiatives. She will be responsible for overseeing the office's operations and political staff to advance the government's goals and ensure the Premier's priorities are met across ministries.

Oates previously served as Alberta Premier Rachel Notley's Chief Communications Adviser and brings strategic advisory experience spanning private and public sectors in multiple countries. She presently teaches "Rhetoric and Communication of Public Policy" at the Max Bell School.
