CARLTON TRAIL COLLEGE
College Celebrates 20-Year Partnership with Canadian Red Cross

January 21, 2026

Carlton Trail College is proud to celebrate 20 years as a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner. The College recently received a certificate recognizing two decades of service and collaboration dedicated to community safety and preparedness.

Through this partnership, Carlton Trail College has delivered lifesaving and preventative training to hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals across the region. Programs such as First Aid, CPR-C, and AED certification continue to be offered regularly, alongside youth-focused courses like StaySafe and Babysitting.

Instructor Shaun Parfitt, a key contributor to the College's Red Cross programming, showcased the certificate commemorating this milestone. "These programs equip people with the skills and confidence to respond in emergencies, which can make all the difference," said Parfitt.

The impact of such training is significant. According to the Canadian Red Cross, bystander CPR combined with AED use can double survival rates in cardiac arrest situations. In Saskatchewan, thousands of residents benefit annually from Red Cross safety programs, yet nearly one-third of households report having no first-aid training, underscoring the importance of accessible education in rural communities.

Carlton Trail College looks forward to continuing this vital work with the Canadian Red Cross for many years to come.
