Vanier College and McGill University are hosting the 5th edition of the Cégep GameJam on January 10 and 11, 2026 (Saturday and Sunday). This free event invites all cégep students across the province to come together and create game prototypes in teams, whether they're board games, video games, or card games. Beginners, with or without programming experience, are welcome!

"Last year, the Cégep GameJam was a huge success with over 120 participants," explains Chris Gregg, a teacher at Vanier College and a participant in the event for the past three years. "This event gives students the chance to go from being players to game creators while developing essential skills like collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving."

Mentors to Guide and Inspire
Mentors from Quebec-based video game studios like Ubisoft, as well as university students from McGill specializing in game design, will support participants throughout the GameJam.
Free Workshops Before the Event
From January 5 to 9, 2026, free online workshops will be offered to help prepare participants. These workshops will cover a variety of topics, including pixel art, animation, an introduction to Unity and more!

- Free meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided during both days of the event.
