Students Develop Creative Solutions at YR Hacks Hackathon

May 21, 2024

From learning tools that support studying to software that tests the validity of an information source and programs that convert ASL to audio, students developed a range of creative solutions during the 24-hour YR Hacks event.

YR Hacks is a hackathon for YRDSB students that is run by students for students. Over the two-day event, students have 24 hours to create an innovative project to pitch to judges. The event gives students an opportunity to apply classroom learning to real-world problem-solving and applications, develop coding skills, collaborate with their peers and gain valuable skills and experience.

Watch the video to learn more about some of the students' innovative ideas and the YR Hacks event.
