Danny Di Lorenzo and Rhianon Burkholder acclaimed Chair and Vice-Chair at annual organizational meeting

During the December 5, Annual Organizational Meeting of the Niagara Catholic District School Board, Danny Di Lorenzo and Rhianon Burkholder were acclaimed as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees for 2024.

During his remarks, Chair Di Lorenzo thanked his fellow trustees for their confidence in him and focused on continuing the positive work started in the Board's first term.

"Our current focus on the strategic plan reflects our commitment to enhancing the educational experience of every student entrusted in our care," he said. "By working together, we can improve and create an environment where our faith is of the utmost importance in the development of every child. I am confident that through our collective efforts, we will make decisions that will support our students' academic achievement, spiritual growth, and mental wellbeing."

Vice-Chair Burkholder also focused on the importance of putting students first.

"This is an opportunity for us to serve in our faith and continue to advocate for Catholic education," she said. Collaboratively, with Chair Di Lorenzo, trustees, we can all make a difference."

Director of Education Camillo Cipriano congratulated Chair Di Lorenzo and Vice-Chair Burkholder on being acclaimed to second terms.

"Congratulations to Chair Di Lorenzo and Vice-Chair Burkholder on their acclamations as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board for 2024. It has been my privilege to work with the Chair and Vice- Chair for the past year as Niagara Catholic's Executive Council, and I have been impressed with their focus on what is best for students and staff," said Director Cipriano. "While there have been challenges, our focus has always been on ensuring that Niagara Catholic provides programs, supports, and services that are in the best interest of our students, and ensuring our staff feel supported in all that they do. I am confident that we will continue that focus this year, and I look forward to our continued collaboration in 2024."
