Grade 6 students at Lanigan Elementary School enjoyed a visit from Peter Quinlan (Global Saskatoon meteorologist and on-air weather personality) on January 17. Mr. Quinlan shared a presentation about weather forecasting and various weather phenomenon in Saskatchewan. He also talked about the job of a meteorologist, sharing behind-the-scenes information and photos from the newsroom.
The visit was organized by the class' teacher, Mr. Chernishenko, who wanted to give students a chance to learn about the weather directly from a known expert. The class has been studying a unit on weather as part of their Science Curriculum. Students had many questions for Mr. Quinlan about weather patterns, tornadoes and what it's like to be a meteorologist.
