Ryan Hayden appointed Acting Principal at Cayley School and the Colony Schools

Foothills School Division (FSD) is proud to make the following leadership appointment for the 2023-2024 school year:

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Ryan Hayden who has been appointed Acting Principal at Cayley School and the Colony Schools for the 2023-2024 school year. Currently, Mr. Hayden is Vice-Principal of École Secondaire Foothills Composite High School/Alberta High School of Fine Arts, and prior to that he served as Vice-Principal of Turner Valley School. Ryan brings diverse K-12 experience to this leadership role having demonstrated excellence in teaching and leadership at Oilfields, Turner Valley, Millarville, École Okotoks Junior High School, and École Secondaire Highwood High School.

Cultivating a strong and vibrant school culture where students can excel in an inclusive environment are central to Ryan's leadership and evident in the schools where he has served as a teacher and school leader. Mr. Hayden collaborates effectively with members of the school community and staff teams to develop and coordinate meaningful learning opportunities and extracurricular activities that characterize effective schools.

Ryan holds both a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education (Administration and Leadership) from the University of Alberta.

Ryan makes meaningful commitments and contributions to whole school experiences for students. Throughout his career, he has ensured that students have engaging learning opportunities within the classroom, in the community, and through extra-curricular opportunities.

Ryan shares the following as he sets to join the Cayley School and Colony School communities, "I have long been an admirer of Cayley School and appreciate the significant role that it plays in the fabric of the community of Cayley. I appreciate the opportunity to be a steward of the school and look forward to working with the incredible team in place to continue the great work already happening".
