CONSEIL SCOLAIRE PUBLIC DU NORD-EST DE L'ONTARIO
New Principal at École secondaire publique Renaissance

November 8, 2023

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Roch Mageau as Principal of École secondaire publique Renaissance de Timmins in the upcoming months.

Mr. Mageau has been a member of the CSPNE team since 2004, primarily in the Timmins region, but will assume the role of principal at École secondaire publique l'Alliance in Iroquois Falls in January 2021. Over the years, he has demonstrated strong leadership qualities as an educator and administrator of the schools in which he has worked.  Mr. Mageau was Assistant Director of Renaissance from 2018 to 2021.

Mr. Mageau succeeds Chantal MacIvor, who recently announced that she was leaving for a well-deserved retirement at the end of January 2024, after more than 20 years with the school board.  The CSPNE would like to thank Ms. MacIvor for her obvious dedication and exceptional leadership of the Timmins-area CSPNE school community and beyond.

In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,100 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
